About BuNova

Frank Odijk

Frank joined BuNova in March 2007 as general manager.

Frank's background is pragmatic, bachelor mechanical engineering specialized in energy technology, as well as academic, master mechanical engineering specialized in applied mechanics.

Frank is well experienced, since he worked at

  • Urenco R&D department as rotordynamics specialist as well as an engineer carrying out aerospace projects
  • HOLEC Medium Voltage (Eaton) as projectleader/program manager carrying out and defining mutidisciplinary development and implementation projects for next generation medium voltage switchgear from concept phase on
  • reden BV as head of the structural department with high end Finite Element software and expertise

Gert-Jan van der Gulik

Gert-Jan is manager of the Process Department and the most experienced BuNova member.

Gert-Jan achieved his Philosophers Degree in Applied Chemistry and is the expert  in modelling and applying high end simulation tools like  CFD software. He has a broad generic knowledge of fluid processes due to his years of working experience for many customers in Food, Chemistry, Oil and Gas, biogasupgrading, gaspurification, pumping and other industries.

Furthermore he's a good analyser in determining the energy and heat concentration and multi phase distributions in processes.

Aldo Tralli

Aldo joined BuNova in January 2008 as a multiphysics consultant, after a PhD in applied mathematics and several years of R&D experience in aerospace.

Aldo is a generic multidisciplinary thinker with specific knowledge spanning from structural mechanics, to smart materials, heat management and fluid dynamics.   At BuNova he combines his structural/mechanical, heat and flow expertise and uses high end  CFD and FEM modeling and simulation techniques to support his problem analyses in a R&D environment.

Nicholas Waterson

Nicholas has more than 20 years’ experience in the development and application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques in both industry and academia. His early experience was gained at British Aerospace and CHAM Ltd following which he received a doctorate in computational fluid dynamics from the von Karman Institute and TU Delft. For more than 10 years he led a team at the engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald in the UK analyzing a range of applications including aerodynamic and thermal effects on structures, wind engineering, fluid-structure interaction, ventilation and hydraulics. Since 2006 he has held a visiting position as a research fellow and senior lecturer at Imperial College London.

Ruud Koopman

Ruud Koopman joined BuNova in 2010 as a structural analysis expert.

He has a bachelor of automotive engineering as background. Ruud is member of the Structural/Mechanical Department and has built up a solid Finite Element Modelling experience for thermal/mechanical analyses of LED applications as well as structural design changes in commercial busses.

Richard van der Zande

Richard joined BuNova in December 2011 as a mechanical / structural expert.

Richard has a bachelor of mechanical engineering and has more than 10 yearsexperience in structural analyses since he worked at:

  • HOLEC Medium Voltage (Eaton) as mechanical engineer
  • Viro as mechanical / structural engineer (finite element software: FEMAP)
  • Reden BV as mechanical / structural engineer (finite element software: ABAQUS)
  • Mecal as mechanical / structural engineer (finite element software: ANSYS)
  • Bunova as mechanical / structural engineer (finite element software: ANSYS)

Harmen Krediet

Harmen joined BuNova in March 2012 as a specialist in Fluid Dynamics, acoustics, heat transfer and combustion. In 2008 he obtained his masters’ degree mechanical engineering from the University Twente. Between January 2009 and January 2012 he held a PhD position at Siemens Energy in Germany, as part of a European exchange project. The topic of this PhD was the prediction of combustion instabilities in gas turbine combustion chambers. These combustion instabilities can lead to significant acoustic pressure amplitudes, which can damage the combustion chamber and should therefore be avoided.

Harmen has a lot of experience in the field of CFD simulations and can apply this to different kind of problems.
